Welcome to the official website of the Indian Red Cross Society, Sonitpur District Branch. We are a humanitarian organization dedicated to providing voluntary aid to the vulnerable, promoting health and safety, and supporting community resilience. Guided by the fundamental principles of the Red Cross Movement, we work for the well-being of people across Sonitpur, Assam.
Activities
Blood Services
Serves who are in need of Blood Transfusion. Focuses on awareness as well as encouraging voluntary blood donations. Monthly Camps, camps on World Day, National Day as well as College and University
Youth Volunteers
Each generation passes on the torch of “ I Serve “ to the next. Hence it becomes the challenge for the present generation to groom the future of tomorrow and that is the Youth’. Youth Red Cross it is a group movement organized for students in colleges and Universities . Members age group is 18 to 30 years.
Junior Volunteers
The main moto of Junior Red Cross is “I SERVE”. The Junior Red Cross is the Student’s wing of the Red Cross movement. It is a group movement organized within schools. Students who take part in Junior Red Cross activities are known as Juniors’. The teachers who guides them are called. Counsellors/ Program Officers
Community Volunteer
All adults 30 + age may join Red Cross as Community Volunteers. Who will be train on First Aid , Fire Fighting., Emergency Response. They will be the first responder in their own neighbourhood to serve in case of disaster
Community Outreach
We organised health camp with due help and guidance from Jt. Director Health Service as well as reputed organisations on following: cancer care awareness , malaria prevention awareness, Person with Disabilities, children with Cerebral Palsy , liaison with DDRC, Eye Care etc
